Dear Parents and Students,

On behalf of the staff and administration, I would like to welcome you to the American Chinese School.

American Chinese School (ACS) is an independent, non-profit weekend school for students from Kindergarten though Grade 12. It is non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.

Chinese was added as an Advance Placement course a few years ago. This marks a milestone in the significance of Chinese language instruction in the United States. Not only do parents who immigrated to the United States from China want their children to study the Chinese language and appreciate its cultural heritage, more and more parents who do not speak Chinese would like their children to study Chinese and learn about China’s culture and history. With the hard work of our staff, parents, students, and teachers, we hope to address this growing demand.

Since its foundation in 2004, ACS has strived to make the children’s learning experience educational and fun. The school maintains a high standard of academic excellence and emphasizes character development and community service. It also provides a challenging environment where talented students are encouraged to develop their abilities to their full potential. For these purposes, we select our staff and teachers with great care and are confident that you will be pleased with the quality of our instruction. Our teachers are here to serve and to make Chinese instruction and learning relevant and interesting. In addition, we try to keep class sizes small.
