Lauren Brukner

Lauren Brukner is a senior occupational therapist with the New York City Department of Education and author of the Awesome and in Control self-regulation program, encompassing six books with Jessica Kingsley Publishers, including The Kids’ Guide to Staying Awesome and in Control, Stay Cool and in Control with the Keep-Calm Guru: Wise Ways for Children to Regulate their Emotions and Senses,  How to Be a Superhero Called Self-Control! and The Kids’ Guide to Getting Your Words on Paper.

Lauren lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children, and when she's not writing or “therapizing,” she can often be found going on an outdoor weekend adventure with her family, having a good dance party with her kids, or curled up with an engrossing book and a great cup of coffee.
